Convention season is now in full swing, and ScareFest Horror and Paranormal Convention has begun to release their impressive guest list announcements for ScareFest 7. Last year’s Scarefest 6 was phenomenal, and this year’s show is shaping up to be even better.

ScareFest 7 will be held September 12-14 at the Lexington Convention Center. The convention will begin Friday, September 12 from 5pm-10pm (4pm for platinum and gold ticket holders). Saturday’s hour will be 11am-9pm and Sunday’s hours will be 11am-4pm. Platinum and gold ticket holders will be allowed in an hour early each day of the convention. As of right now, the impressive list of guests include names like Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th pt 7-Jason X, Hatchet 1, 2 &3), Corey Feldman (The Lost Boys, The Goonies, Stand By Me, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter), Jamison Newlander (The Lost Boys, The Blob), Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs, Hatchet III) and many more to be announced.

One of my personal favorite things about ScareFest is that not only is it a horror convention, but also a paranormal convention. There are a lot of familiar names on the paranormal guest list. Appearing will be Patti Starr (paranormal investigator and lecturer),  Grant Wilson (Ghost Hunters), Dave Tango (Ghost Hunters), Steve Gonzalves (Ghost Hunters), Chip Coffey (Paranormal State, Psychic Kids), John Zaffis (Haunted Collector) and Jonathan Hodges and Benny Reed (Deep South Paranormal).

There will be many more names announced in both the horror and paranormal categories. There will also be bands and plenty of vendors.

To help with any of your convention concerns, check out the “Before You Go” and FAQs sections. If those do not answer your questions, send an email to info@thescarefest.com. The staff is always friendly and very helpful, and responses are always prompt.

If you are interested in going and do not want to get stuck in a hotel far away from the convention center, check out the “hotels” section for a list of the closest hotels (many of which honor a discount for going to the convention).

ScareFest is also doing their own version of the March Madness brackets called “Tournament of Terror”. Head on over and cast your votes.

As I mentioned before, I attended last year’s convention and absolutely loved it. Everyone was polite and helpful. The event was very well organized. My overall experience was positive. It was like hanging out with a huge group of friends that I’ve known forever. I hope to see you all there this year for ScareFest 7!

Be sure to like ScareFest on Facebook and follow them on twitter for more updates. I will be posting update articles here a well as I see changes.
